2022 NNL: City FC Record Back-to-back Wins After 2-1 Victory Over FWC Champions

Abuja based side, City Football Club on Saturday made it two wins out of two matches in the 2021/2022 Nigeria National League, NNL season as the won their derby match away to Family Worship Centre, FWC Champions, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Formed in 2021, the debutants won their opening match 2-0 against visiting Mighty Jets of Jos and followed it up in their away match on Saturday with 2-1 triumph over FWC Champions.

The match which was played at the Area 10 Complex in Abuja had pockets of fans in the stands cheering their respective teams.

Played under scorching sun with intermittent water breaks, Boslam Dawi gave the home side, FWC Champions the lead in the 19th minute.

Emmanuel Ihezuo

He scored against run of play to hand the church team the lead but the visitors restored parity as striker, Emmanuel Ihezuo scored in the 53rd minute for the Citizens.

The match became a dig-dong affair moments after with the home side dominating proceedings but their dominance amounted to naught.

FWC (Family Worship Centre) got punished 4 minutes later as Ihezuo again scored to hand the visitors the driving seat.

Following dramas and delay tactics, the centre referee allowed play for additional 12 minutes after the 90 minutes regulation but FWC Champions failed to make it count.

It’s a match for records as Emmanuel Ihezuo have now scored four goals in two matches with the striker who set 15-goals-in-5-matches leaving no one in doubt about his goal scoring ability.
