EPL Biggest Spenders Rankings In The Transfer Window
A total of 114 signings were witnessed in the English Premier League ahead of the 2019-2020 season with the 20 clubs coughing up £1.4billion.
This summer transfer window slightly edged last season’s spending by a total of £158m and smashed the £1billion threshold for the fourth consecutive year. Harry Maguire’s signing from Leicester City was the record transfer in the window after Manchester United parted with £80m to sign him.
Everton were the busiest clubs in terms of arrivals as they signed a total of 17 players with Alex Iwobi joining the club on transfer deadline day. Tyrone Mings (£26.5m), Wesley (£22m), Matt Targett (£17m) and Douglas Luiz (£15m) were some of the signings that took newly promoted Aston Villa’s spending to £144.5m.
