The CAF Disciplinary Committee has suspended the CAF 3rd vice president also Morocco FA president Fouzi Lekjaa for head butting and kicking Ethiopian referee Bamlak Tessema after his club RS Berkane lost to Zamalek in the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup final in Alexandria.
The Disciplinary Committee hearing was headed Raymond Hack, a lawyer and the former CEO of South African Football Association.

The Ethiopian Football Federation had asked the CAF DC to sanction Lekjaa for “head-butting” Referee Bamlak Tessema and inciting players of RS Berkana to attack Tessema, after they lost to Zamalak in the CAFCC final in Alexandria.
“ We are following this case very seriously,” the EFF had said.
Prior to the ruling, It is expected that Lekjaa would appear in person before the CAF Disciplinary Committee, as he has been requested to do so.
Referee Tessema was not expected at the hearing, as the committee already has his written account.
Lekjaa’s suspension, as one of the highest-ranking CAF officials would further damage the image of the beleaguered organisation.
