A seven-man delegation from the Confederation of Africa Football, CAF is expected in Cameroon to inspect facilities to host the 2020 Africa Nations Championship, CHAN and the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, Bestchoicesports.com.ng understands

The CAF delegation led by Africa’s regulatory football body’s vice President Constant Omari will be in Cameroon between September 24th – 30, 2019.

The CAF inspection mission team will inspect an array of proposed facilities for the 2020 CHAN and the 2021 AFCON including stadiums, training facilities, potential team base camps and other related project in line with the organization of the dual continental competitions.

They will visit four cities; Bafoussam, Garoua, Yaoundé and Douala were competitions shall take place.

Prior to the visit, Cameroon’s Minister of Sport and Physical Education, Prof Narcisse Mouelle Kombi organised a two day seminar in Yaounde on how to better present the CHAN and Afcon projects to the CAF delegation.

The sport boss had also visited various construction sites which he expressed satisfaction about the progress of work.

The Africa Nations Championship CHAN is reserved for players who compete in their domestic leagues.

A total of 16 teams including host Cameroon will play at the tournament.

Cameroon have already qualified automatically as host.

Seemingly, Cameroon will host the 2021 afcon after she was stripped off hosting the 2019 football showpiece. It will be the second with the expanded 24 team format.
