Super Eagles attacker, Samuel Chukwueze played all 90 minutes on Saturday as his club Villarreal defeated Real Madrid 2-1 at home in the Spanish La Liga.
It was a game decided by penalties as both teams were handed penalty kicks each within three minute during the second half.
Yeremi Pino gave the Yellow Submarines the lead in the 47th minute but a 60th minute penalty converted by Karim Benzema leveled scores for Madrid.
However, a hand ball inside the box by David Alaba in the 63rd minute was dispatched by Gerard Moreno to restore the home team’s lead.
Chukwueze was a constant tormentor on the right wing and made life unbearable for David Alaba who had a busy day to keep him out of danger.
The match could have ended 3-1 but for Arnaut Danjuma’s missed last kick if the game with open net after goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois left his post in search of a goal at the other end.
The victory lifted Villarreal to 5th on the log with 27 points while it cost Real Madrid the chance to go top of the La Liga table ahead of their rivals, Barcelona who play a crunch tie against Athletico Madrid on Sunday.
