The Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, NWF wishes to felicitate with Christians on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebrations

President of the federation, Dr Abdul Ibrahim in his Easter message on Friday, charged the Christan faithfuls to imbibe the teachings of Jesus Christ who came to the world to redeem man kind

Dr Ibrahim who stated this in his Easter message, implored religious and political leaders to emulate the Risen Lord in their leadership so as to enthrone an egalitarian society where peace and justice is obtained.

“The Board of Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, NWF heartily felicitate with our Christian brothers and sisters as they mark this year’s Easter celebrations. There is no doubt that this event is very significant to the believers of Christianity as it is the foundation of the christian religion.

“The coming of Jesus Christ to the world and His death thereafter, is not only symbolic but also defined the Christian faith. Christ came and preached peace, enthroned justice in our society.

“Today our religious and political leaders owe humanity a duty to lead in fear of God. Establish purposeful leadership, enthrone peace and justice in the land. These are the mandate to our leaders and I believe that this Easter period is a reminder to them, to retrace their steps where they are going astray and return to the path God have set out for them.

“We congratulate Christians on this great occasion and charge them to live live in peace, love one another and pray for our leaders,” he said.

This year’s Easter celebrations will hold on Sunday, April 17, 2022
