The world Football governing body, Federation of International Football Association FIFA; the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF and Nigeria football legend, Kanu Nwankwo have all expressed shock and sadness over the sudden death of former Super Eagles player and Olympic Team captain, Isaac Promise, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

FIFA in its message on Thursday sympathised with the family and friends of late Promise and extolled his commitment that made him lead the U-23 team to a podium finish at the 2008 Beijing Olympics

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Isaac Promise.

“The former Nigeria striker, who helped the @NGSuperEagles claim silver at the 2008 @Olympics, has died at the age of just 31,” FIFA said on its Twitter handle.

On their part, the NFF said it was sad to hear the death of Promise and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

In a tweet on its official Twitter handle, the NFF said “We are sad to hear of the sudden demise of former @NGSuperEagles forward, Isaac Promise. Promise was captain of the Beijing Olympics’ Eagles squad that won silver.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. May his soul Rest In Peace, Amen.”

Former Super Eagles captain and Nigeria football legend, Nwakwo Kanu also expressed sadness over the death of Isaac Promise.

In an emotional four-word on Twitter, the former Inter Milan and Arsenal striker said “R.I.P. Sad sad sad.”

Late Isaac Promise, aged 31, died on Wednesday after a brief illness.
He captained Nigeria to the 2008 Olympic silver medal and scored 79 goals in 11 professional football season in Turkey.

Promise died late Wednesday after collapsing at his apartment gym in Austin, Texas, according report.
