World Football governing body, FIFA and former Super Eagles striker, Ozaze Odemwingwe have congratulated Super Falcons of Nigeria on their qualification for the knockout stage of the ongoing Women’s World Cup in France, Bestchoicesports can report.

FIFA sent out the felicitation Thursday with a 2 seconds video after the team booked their passage to the Round of 16 following the conclusion of group stage matches.

In a message sent to the team via its twitter handle, FIFA said “Congrats Super Falcons, See you in the Round of 16.”

On his part, former Super Eagles striker, Peter Ozaze Odemwingwe commended the team for the feat and also thank the Thailand team for paving the way for the team’s progression.

“Well done girls, and thank you to team Thailand,” he tweeted Friday

Nigeria and Cameroon both qualified for the Round of 16 of the tournaments as two of the four third-placed teams. Both teams qualified with three points each.

This is the first time in the history of the FIFA Women’s World Cup that two African countries are playing in the knockout stage.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria will clash with Germany while Cameroon with tackle England.

Meanwhile today is rest day in France as the 16 teams left in the tournament are taking rests to resume hostilities on Saturday.
