Speaking bin an interview following three matches played by the team in Bulgaria, Mr Ikwulono, a football enthusiast said that Mavlon FC has shown the way to go regarding the development of talented footballers as seen with their European tour in Bulgaria, where they have displayed strong football culture of Nigeria.

While expressing delight over the tour and it’s outcome so far, he added that the exposure of the players will also help in the development 9f heir football career.

“I am extremely happy with the training tour of Europe by FC Mavlon. Under 19 players made up the team and what these players need for their development is this type of training tour,” Ikwulono told the media in Abuja.

“Exposure is very key in the development of young players and I am very sure that these players will definately learn one or two things in Bulgaria that will help their football career.

Speaking on some of the friendly games played by Mavlon FC where the team lost two and drew one, Mr Ikwulono, whose company, Taci Petroleum is a lead sponsor of the club, said that he has been so impressed, noting that the team played well against more formidable teams and would have won their third friendly game, were in not for some questionable decisions from the referee.

“Of course, I am impressed with the performance of the team in the three friendly games played so far by Mavlon. 

“The friendly games are not just about about results at the end of the 90minutes , but how well the footballers could play as a team to the delight of their fans back in Nigeria and those interested in Nigeria Football.

“You can attest that the club have not disappointed. I was already celebrating when Mavlon led 3-1 in anticipation of their win against FC Levski-Krumovgrad on Sunday until some questionable decisions from the referee ruined my fun.

“Nevertheless, I hope the team will continue to give a good account of themselves as they fly the flag of Nigeria very high in Bulgaria, as a great footballing nation,” he concluded.

FC Mavlon, Nationwide League One (NLO), a third – tier league side in Nigeria are in Bulgaria, East Europe for three weeks training tour.
