The Legaue Management Company, LMC, has granted conditional approval for Nasarawa United to admit fans to its home games, Lafia City Stadium, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

LMC announced the conditional approval via its official Twitter handle on Wednesday

The approval was granted after the club completed the 5 home fixtures closed door sanction handed to it by the league management body due to the fracas that occurred at the end of the MatchDay 4 fixture against Plateau Utd in Lafia.

According to the statement,

“The LMC has granted conditional approval for Nasarawa United to admit fans to its home games after the club’s completion of the 5 home fixtures closed door sanction due to the fracas that occurred at the end of the MatchDay 4 fixture against Plateau Utd in Lafia.

“The LMC had also directed Nasarawa United as part of the conditions to be met before the sanction will be lifted , to erect a security barriacade tunnel for players and match officials which the club has also complied with.

“In fulfilment of other conditions stipulated in the summary jurisdiction, Nasarawa Utd have held orientation programs for their supporters to create awareness against violence at match venues. The program was supervised by officers of the state police & the Nasarawa State FA”, the statement read.

With this latest development, fans are now allowed into the Lafia City Stadium to cheer their darling team, Nasarawa United FC, to victory in subsequent games, with a call to be law-abiding and forestall reoccurrence.

Nasarawa United FC will play Abia Warriors FC on NPFL MatchDay 18 at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday, 2nd February, 2020, by 4pm.

In a statement signed by the club’s media officer, Eche Amos, the Solid Miners apologised to the fans and all those affected by the stadium ban and thanked all those who played various roles to get the ban suspended.

While thanking the governor of the state his intervention, the club promised henceforth to change the ugly narrative that befallen it this season.

“While we apologise to all those affected by the LMC’s sanctions, we wish to use this medium to thank all those who showed concerted efforts towards the reopening of the stadium to fans, worthy of exceptional mention are the Nasarawa State Government under the pragmatic leadership of Governor Engr. Abdullahi A Sule; the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development headed by its Commissioner, Hon. Othman Bala Adam; the League Management Company headed by Mallam Shehu Dikko; the State Football Association, headed by Alkali Mohammed; the Press, and other critical stakeholders too numerous to mention.

“We hope to change the narrative and do all within our powers to forestall future reoccurrence, while making frantic efforts to come back to winning ways, beginning with the game against Abia Warriors FC,” the release said.

Nasarawa United are currently bottom of the 2019/20 league season with 13 points from 16 matches
