NOC Mourns Guardian Photo Editor’s Death

The Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC has expressed sadness over the death of Guardian Newspapers Photo Editor, Mr Femi Adebeshin.

Mr Adebeshin died on Friday morning, aged 57.

He passed on at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta during a brief ill-health

A statement signed by NOC Public Relations Officer, Tony Nezianya described late Adebeshin as a committed journalist, “who used his expertise in photojournalism to promote sports and the activities of the Nigeria and Commonwealth Olympic Movement.

During his lifetime, he covered many international notable Games including the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester England, the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, the Africa Games in Abuja 2003 as well as that of Algiers, Algeria in 2007.

It was gathered that he covered two previous World Cup tournaments

“May the Almighty Allah accept his soul.

Late Kuti has since been buried according to his Islamic religious rites,” the statement concluded
