Rangers Pay Courtesy Visit To New Sports Commissioner

The Management team of former Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL champions, Rangers International F.C, Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed commissioner of Youth  and Sports in Enugu state, Honourable Manfred Nzekwe,

 The team was led by the General Manager/Chief Executive Officer of the club, Prince Davidson Owumi.

The youthful commissioner who took over from Honourable Vitus Okechi, Tuesday, at a very brief ceremony, welcomed the Rangers delegation with a promise to work for the progress of the ‘Flying Antelopes’ when the suspended season resumes.

“I am indeed very glad to have you people in my office. I welcome you and promise to work for the progress of our team, Rangers International F.C, in the ongoing season that was suspended due to Covid-19 pandemic. The briefs handed to me by my predecessor, Hon. Okechi, speaks volumes and we shall continue in that regard to ensure you take the club to the level it rightly belongs,” stated honourable Nzekwe.

Speaking earlier, Prince Owumi who led the delegation, congratulated the commissioner on his appointment and pledged to do all he can to see that Rangers end the season on a respectable note while working harmoniously with the ministry.

“We are here to welcome and congratulate you on your latest appointment as the commissioner of Youth & Sports, Enugu state. It gladdens our hearts that you are continuing from where Honorable Okechi stopped and we shall work harmoniously with the ministry to ensure that Rangers ends the season on a high,” stated the former NPL boss.

On the delegation were Barrister Emeka F. Ugwuarue, administrative secretary, R.M.C; Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, team manager and a host of others.

Recall that the executive governor of Enugu state, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, recently approved the change of guard in the administration with the former commissioner for Youth & Sports, Hon. Vitus Okechi taking charge of Housing ministry while Hon. Manfred Nzekwe assumed duties in the Youth & Sports ministry from Tourism ministry.
