The president, Nigeria Football Federation NFF, Amaju Pinnick is on “a wishful thinking” and only trying to sell a dummy to top government officials that he will soon be president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after Ahmad Ahmad would have been asked to step down over corruption charges, Bestchoicesports.com.ng understands.

AAccording to an online newspaper, Scorenigeria players’ union boss Harrison Jalla, Pinnick, who became CAF first vice president by default, has tried to sell a dummy to the Nigerian government that he is in line to be the next CAF president in the event Ahmad Ahmad has to step down.

Scoreniveria quotes Mr Jalla as saying that “This wishful thinking is still raging on and there are allegations he has tried to reach out to top government officials, who will in turn reach out to the anti-graft agencies to drop charges against him and his gang.

“The fact is that Amaju Pinnick is not A FIT AND PROPER PERSON to hold the exalted position of acting President of CAF having not cleared himself from the charges in CR/324/18, FHC/ABJ/CR /93/19 and the complaints before the secretariat of the Investigatory Chamber of FIFA.

“The $16.5m stolen from Nigeria football federation is a huge question on the integrity of Amaju Pinnick and the only way out is to defend and clear himself in court.

“The schemings to sweep these charges under the carpet is a complete waste of time and an exercise in futility.

“In fact in saner climes the Honourable Minister in conjunction with the NFF Congress ought to have since dissolved the current NFF board to give Nigeria football a breath of fresh air.”

Jalla continued: “How did Pinnick become CAF first Vice President? It has to do with issues of corruption that involved former GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi who was duly elected CAF first Vice President.

“And how does Pinnick now scheming to be CAF acting President? It still on allegations against Ahmad Ahmad,” the paper quoted Mr Jalla
