The Super Eagles remain unmoved in December’s ranking released by FIFA on Thursday indicates that Nigeria has moved down a spot in Africa and now ranked the 4^th best team in the continent.

The down turn in ranking is obviously no thanks to the inability of the team to win a single match during the year under review.

After failing to win any of their four games played this year (one defeat, three draws), the Eagles maintained their 35th spot in the last ranking.

On the continent, the three-time African Cup of Nations champions occupy fourth position.

Morocco also ended the year in joint 35th place in the world and fourth in Africa alongside the Eagles

The Teranga Lions of Senegal finished 2020 as Africa’s best team in 20th and number one on the continent.

Tunisia are second in Africa and 26th on the globe while reigning African champions Algeria are 31st in the world and third in Africa.

Belgium finished the year at number one and are followed by France, Brazil, England and Portugal in second, third, fourth and fifth respectively.

The next FIFA ranking will be published on 18 February 2021.
