Former Super Eagles attacker, Julius Efosa Aghahowa has stated that the return of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON highest goalscorer winner, Odion Jude Ighao to the team will be a great benefit, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The 39 years old ex Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine who disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Best Choice Sports in Abuja said Ighalo’s return will not divide the camp but rather his experience will come in handy in helping the young ones in the team.

“Ighalo will not divide the camp. The more the better for us. He is a Nigerian, he has contributed immensely to the growth of football in Nigeria and the whole world. With his experience, I think we still need him back in the fold, he can teach one or two things to the younger ones coming because he has done it, the former Bendel Insurance of Edo State said.

When asked if he would expect the Al Shabaab of Saudi Arabia striker to start the Saturday World Cup qualifier against Lone Star of Liberia in Morocco, “Aghawonder” as he was nicknamed during his playing days, said the decision is that of the coach to take.

“His being in the group is going to be a win-win situation for us. It is left for the coach to now pick who he wants to use. There are certain games you want to play, you need a certain kind of player, there are holding players, fans players, there are players who run without the ball while there are some who want to wait for the ball.

” It depends on the opponents you want to play and if we have more options, the coach will have more options to choose from. Him coming back to the team I am very sure he is a very good player, we are going to benefit more with his inclusion in the team.

“It based on the opponents we are going to play. But if the coach sees that these opponents we want to play do not suit the style of Ighalo, he might start someone else but if it suits his style, he might start him. So it depends on him and how he wants to use the players.”

Odion Ighalo rejoined the Super Eagles camp in Tangier, Morocco on Thursday after more than two years of retirement. His inclusion into the team has gained knocks and kudos from football frabternity in the country.
