Exactly 14 days today when Vandrrezzer FC announced its decision to discontinue participation in the 2020/2021 NIgeria National League, NNL, the Lagos-based club have made a u-turn and returned to the league, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

The decision to return to the league by Vandrrezzer was part of resolutions reached in a bipartite meeting held between the club and the management of NNL in Abuja Thursday.

Among other resolutions reached in the meeting which included the understanding by the NNL management and Vandrrezzer FC management as well as all other 45 clubs in the league to work harmoniously in promoting the league to the global community within the frame of rules guiding the league, the two parties also agreed that Vandrrezzer FC should return to the league and continue its matches from where the league went on midseason break.

At the end of the meeting which lasted for hours, the parties resolved that “The Nigeria National League and the management of Vandrezzer FC met Wednesday 28 April,2021 at the League body’s Secretariat, Abuja to deliberate on the letter of Withdrawal by Vandrezzer and resolved as follows.

“Both agreed to put what ever differences behind and to seek avenues where all can work better with the League and all the Clubs.

“NNL was pleased with the contributions and innovations made by Vandrezzer FC and encouraged other Clubs to come up with ideas to improve the chances of attracting sponsors and commercial partners .

“NNL is a progressive body and welcomes ideas that will help market the league to the outside world as long as it does not impede on their rules and regulations.

“NNL re-affirmed its directives to all clubs to use their available broadcast mechanism to cover their home and away matches. Any club that hinders, prohibits or causes any delays in the live streaming of their home and away matches, would be fined as stated in an earlier correspondence to the clubs.

“That Vandrezzer FC would be continuing the League.”

In announcing it’s withdrawal from the league on April 15, 2021, Vandrrezzer FC said “Recall that in our bid to reposition the league and open it up to become visible enough to be able to generate revenue in accordance with global best practices; we requested and received a written approval from the hierarchy of the Nigeria National League an approval to stream live, all our games home and away. Our intentions were to expose the league to the world, at enormous expense to us and our sponsors, in order for easy marketability and standardization.

“The decision becomes imperative in view of the fact that the Management and Board of the Nigeria National League as presently constituted has demonstrated enough resolve and communicated same to us in clear terms that our club, with its transformation agenda is not in any way needed in the NNL league.”

The league has been on midseason break and is expected to recommence soon.
