ABS Director Of Football Cheif Alloy Chukwuemeka has expressed excitement following the inclusion of ABS FC Ilorin defender Benjamin Fredrick to the Nigeria U20 team the Flying Eagles ahead of the WAFU B U20 championship that will go down in Niamey, Niger Republic from the 7th to the 20th of May 2022.

Frederick Benjamin a product of Moses Simon Academy in Kaduna joined ABS Ilorin FC in the winter before the commencement of the Nigeria National League (NNL) 2021/2022 season has however been fantastic so far for the Abubakar Bukola Saraki side.

His brilliance so far hasn’t gone unnoticed a performance which earned him a place in the Flying Eagles initial 40 man squad released by head coach Ladan Bosso and has also made the cut to the final 28 man squad that will fly to Niamey, Niger for the WAFU B tournament which serves as the qualifiers for the African Youth championship (AYC) a competition Nigeria has won for a record seven times.

ABS Director of Football Chief (NWACHIGOZIRI 1 of Umualumaku Community in Ehime Mbano in Imo State), Alloy Chukwuemeka described the development as a huge boost for the Kwara State based club stating that it will motivate others to raise their game knowing that they will have a chance in the National team setup should they impress giving their 100 percent commitment on the field.

“I’m excited for the lad, Benjamin Fredrick and of course it’s a huge boost for the club and this will inspire others to raise their game”, he said.

He further expressed optimism about the abilities of Benjamin Fredrick stating that the starlet will add huge quality to team and help them achieve their objectives.

“Yes Benjamin Fredrick is a huge talent, you would see his impact in ABS FC since he joined the team, he has been one of our important player, very compact at the back, I’m confident he will add quality to team and help pick the ticket for the African U20 championship”, he concluded.

The defender alongside 27 selected players will depart for Niamey Niger on Thursday as they continue preparations for the competition proper which begins on the 7th of May 2022.

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will will take on the Black Satellites of Ghana and the Young Etalons of Burkina Faso in Group B. While Hosts Niger Republic, Benin Republic, Togo and Cote d’Ivoire will battle in Group A.
