The absorbing story of Wilfred Ndidi’s shuffling between University studies and playing football

Onyinye Wilfred Ndidi is arguably one of the best midfielders in the English premier league as of now. He enjoys his Football career in ranks of Leicester City. Many Football lovers watch Wilfred Ndidi on their screens week in, week out, but only few are aware of the other side of him, which is his determination to get as educated as possible. The 22 year old Nigerian international attends lectures at the University after training, as he combines his football career and schooling.

Ndidi is studying for a business degree at the De Montfort University in Leicester and recently told the media that “I want to do this course because growing up in Nigeria we didn’t really have the opportunity to actually go to school”.

Ndidi told Sky Sports that he wants to use his business degree to help young footballers in Nigeria when he retires from football. Wilfred Ndidi enrolled at De Montfort University in 2018, and seems to be enjoying his time there.

“The teachers have been amazing, they really try and help me understand. Rather than just reading books they take time to explain things to me and they are also very understanding about my schedule with training”.

Wilfred Ndidi is just one amongst few top level footballers who are determined to reach the peak of their Education. At just 22, Ndidi certainly still have a long playing career, but is already thinking of life after Football
