Niger Tornadoes of Minna have had their new home, Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja penetrated by visiting Akwa United in the matchday 9 of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL season.

What started like an easy ride to victory turned out a shocking first home defeat of the season for the Ikon Allah Boys in a match day nine encounter against league defending champions.

Immediately after the restart, the Ikon Allah Boys began like wounded lions, Musa Wakili was denied by Akwa United goalkeeper who threw himself at his effort pushing the ball for corner kick – several other attempts were made at goal, but the attackers were not clinical enough with poor final judgment on the day.

The visitors took the lead, through Leo Ezekiel in the Sixty Eight minute of play when he powered a shot passed George Michael.

All efforts to level the tie by the home team met an ill luck as the Champions ran away the winners.
