Former Super Falcons captain, Asisat Oshoala is primed to win her 5th Africa Women’s Footballer of the Year Award after she made it to the final three candidates for the 2022 crown, bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Asisat is the only Nigeria left in the 2022 CAF Awards slated to hold on Thursday after Bayelsa Queens top scorer, Monday Gift, Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum as well as Rivers Angels all lost out in the Young player of the year, Coach of the Year and Inter-club of the ye6ar awards.

However, the former Arsenal Ladies striker, Oshoala, who have won four editions already, faces stiff competition from Cameroonian Ajara Nchout Njoya as well as new entrant Grace Chanda of Zambia who shone like a star in their teams campaign in the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON for the award.

Bayelsa Queens striker, Monday Gift failed to make the final shortlist for the Women’s Young Player of the Year and the Interclub Women’s Player of the Year Awards

The CAF 2022 Awards Gala which is the first edition since COVID-19 in 2020 disrupted the award, will take place in Rabat, Morocco on Thursday, July 21.
