Ghana had their worst ever record at the biennial tournament after they were eliminated at the group stage.

Their 3-2 crushing defeat to debutants, Comoros Island in their last group C match was the final straw that broke the Carmel’s back.

Their exit was followed with the sack of the former coach, Milovan Rajevac for poor performance.

Days after, the camp have been inundated with reports in several Ghana media outfits that players brought in Mallams – juju makers – to their hotel in Cameroon for self fortification

According to unnamed member of the Ghana Football Association, GFA, he was quoted as saying that Christian Atsu was called to play for the Black Stars but he told the FA straight that he will never play for the four+time AFCON champions again because of use of juju in camp by players.

During the meeting between the Ministry and the FA after the AFCON, the FA pleaded to the Ministry to talk to Mohammed Kudus because he has decided not to play for the Black Stars again due to the juju issue

Ajax team was ready to release Kudus to the national team but the midfielder told Ajax management to close the door for him joining the Black Stars in Cameroon for the AFCON

Report claims that Kudus who was recently bre overed from injury, said it was confirmed to him by his spiritualist that it is one of the Black Stars players who was working against him.

According to the FA, Mohammed Kudus has threatened to quit playing for the national team.

The FA also pleaded to the Ministry to talk to Thomas Teye Partey because the Arsenal star has also threatened to quit or close his door for the national team.

During the AFCON 2021, Partey reported to the technical team that one of the senior players has brought in his personal mallam/priest to the camp/hotel of the Black Stars and the player’s Mallam/priest comes to the player’s room every midnight and every 1:00 AM; they would hear a chanting word from the player’s room (very noisy) but no decision was taken by the technical team.

The FA made it clear to the Ministry that Brian Brobbey, Inaki Williams, Alfred Duncan, and Mohammed Salisu have made it clear to the FA that they will never play for the Black Stars because of juju in camp.

Kessben Sports further reported that some players of the Black Stars during the tournament brought their spiritual fathers to Cameroon to fortify them spiritually to help them excel at the tournament.

The reports revealed that some godfathers of the players were seen at night visiting the hotel rooms of the players

The Black Stars are scheduled to host Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the first leg of the 2022 World Cup play-off in March.
